Performance: Project Lono perform The Shrouded Republic

  • The Auxiliary Project Space 31 Station Street Middlesbrough, England, TS1 1SR United Kingdom (map)

The Shrouded Republic is a 40-minute epic performance piece that guides the audience into the realms of Faery. Featuring folk songs, sonic distortions and a narrative poem, it is inspired by the legend of Reverend Robert Kirk of Aberfoyle, author of 'The Secret Commonwealth: A Study in Folklore and Psychical Research' (1691), who was allegedly abducted by the fairy folk of Doon Hill as punishment for revealing their mysteries.

We Make Sound is a creative proiect based in Hartlepool. Young people work together to make new music, sounds and words for radio and performance.

For SAW23, they take inspiration from Bob Beagrie, poet/lyricist for Project Lono, and share their creative interpretation of his work. Find out more about Project Lono here.
