Ultrasonic Speaker Commission: Joe Browning

We are pleased to announce that the artist selected for the Ultrasonic Speaker Commission is artist Joe Browning

Joe is a Sound Artist oriented in communal collaboration to interact with and generate archives, interested in the exchange of agency between human, more-than-human, ‘past’ and ‘present’ in the creation of sound work. Through installations and performances, Joe combines these elements as co-creators across the UK and internationally. These interactions are facilitated through field recording, original productions and devising techniques.

‘I am so excited to join Sonic Arts Week in Hillstreet Shopping Centre! I’m looking forward to fuse the sounds of the space alongside the aquatic world of the Tees Valley. I’m excited to see audiences discover the work, taking centre stage as explorers of the piece. Most of all, I’m raring to get started collaborating with the Sonic Arts Week Team.’
